Wednesday
The 10th day is here. We have spent 10 days of adventure-filled and educationally compacted activities in Costa Rica. From short to long hikes, hot to cold weather, dry to wet forests, we traveled miles and miles of Costa Rican scenery, stopping along the way and enjoying all the adventures the land had to offer us.
Our day today started early since our plane back to the states at around 9:45 am. We left La Selva at 3:30am and tried to sleep our way on a 2-hour bus ride to the San Jose Airport. After an exhausting process through the airport security, we finally boarded and are currently now headed to the states, a nearly 6 hour plane ride.
Some of us are sad to leave Costa Rica, wishing we could stay here forever. Others feel satisfied with the trip and its adventures, grateful to have come and ready to go back home and begin the new semester. Either way, we all enjoyed this experience and are grateful for this opportunity since it has created educational but enjoyable challenges, new friends, fulfilled bucket list activities, opened up new desires for travel and environmental conservation, produced Instagram-worthy photographs, and most importantly, shared with us life long memories that will help build us all to the people we wish to be. With this trip, we proved to ourselves, our families, and our friends that we wish to be good people; people who care about the earth; people who face our fears; people who thirst for new adventure. Thank you Costa Rica for enlightening us that we all can, are, and will always be those people.
